Welcome to the first issue of my newest newsletter-"Office Window." As many of you know my office on Cambridge Street has served as a community posting board for many years. Its a great way to share information with the community and given me a chance to connect with the many people that stop to read about the latest news, volunteer opportunities, city services, and neighborhood events. I hope to use this newsletter similar to how I've used my office windows and to find a wider audience. You can still find all these postings at my office at 550 Cambridge Street, so feel free to stop by and say hello. Also please let us know if you have any upcoming events you would like us to include in this newsletter. https://mailchi.mp/659df9eb8fbc/office-window-newsletter-from-cambridge-city-councillor-toomey

We have joined efforts with Fenway Community ...

We have joined efforts with Fenway Community Development Corporation on a campaign regulate corporate short-term rentals. There is increasing evidence that nightly rental platforms such as AirBnB, as well as corporate short-stays, take apartments off the long-term rental market and are a factor in driving up rents to unaffordable levels. This is why we have launched a postcard campaign to support legislation from Rep. Aaron Michlewitz (H.3454). For more information on how to get involved in this statewide campaign, or to sign a postcard, please email or call Jason Desrosier at Desrosier@allstonbrightoncdc.org or (617) 787-3874 x206. We will be dropping off the postcards to City Hall and the State House in February.
