Palaver Strings Seeking Sanctuary features the stories and music of three of Boston's immigrant communities, featuring amazing guest artists. Seeking Sanctuary's Chinese set will feature Chinese folk music arranged by guest artist Zhantao Lin performed by Palaver Strings with Zhantao Lin on the erhu. A performer throughout New England, Lin joined Yo-Yo Ma in his Silk Road Project exchange program and is the founder of the Boston Erhu Ensemble. New England Wild Flower Society will hold its ever popular Shrubs in Winter class on Sunday, January 28 from 10 – 2 with instructor Roland “Boot” Boutwell at Garden in the Woods in Framingham. Even without leaves, many shrubs are still recognizable in late fall and winter. Learn to identify about 20 native New England shrubs through such characteristics as branching patterns, bark, persistent flowers and fruits, growth forms, galls, and habitats. We’ll also consider the natural history of these shrubs. The program will begin indoors, then we’ll head out into the Garden.
