We were shocked and saddened to hear about the death of S. J. Brooks. S. J. was a valued member of the BCA staff when he worked here in 2012 as a member of our Visual Arts team. He was a kind-hearted, generous, and wonderfully creative person with a deep commitment to his work in the community. We extend our sincerest condolences to S.J.'s family and friends during this horrible time. https://www.google.com/amp/boston.cbslocal.com/2018/05/21/cougar-attack-victim-sj-brooks-washington-seattle-boston/amp/

Isabella loved modern dance, and even invited American dance pioneer Ruth St. Denis to perform at the Gardner Museum in 1908. This caused quite a scandal, as Ruth danced barefoot! 😱
