What does the future of the Catholic Church look like? Today's Hispanics are building foundation, writes Boston College School of Theology and Ministry Prof. Hosffman Ospino in America Magazine - The Jesuit Review.

Some residents have pushed for ground-level reconstruction, arguing that it would lower this barrier, reduce noise from vehicles revving uphill, and allow for more development in the future by creating decks over the roadways — while being the least costly of the three. “It just unlocks all these things,” said Harry Mattison, an Allston resident and member of a neighborhood task force working on the highway design. “Even if they’re not done as part of this project, they could still be done over time. But once you build a new highway viaduct, it’s there forever and you can never improve it.”

A mammoth highway project that would dramatically reshape the Massachusetts Turnpike in Allston and affect the commute of hundreds of thousands of motorists will move forward and likely break ground in 2020, state officials said Monday.

Today, we pause to celebrate and remember those who have served our country. Our newly redesigned Boston College Veterans Memorial website helps us honor those Eagles who made the ultimate sacrifice. Each veteran has a page, which shows his class year, military rank, and branch of service. Where available, there is also information on date of birth, hometown, military awards and decorations, and date and location of death. Some of the pages also have links to photos and images of documents and articles. For those on campus, our annual Boston College Veterans Remembrance Ceremony today begins at 11 a.m. Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio '73, who serves as the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA will be the speaker. He will preside and deliver the homily at the preceding Mass, which will be held at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church. BC Jesuit Community Rector Robert Keane, S.J., part-time Philosophy Department Boston College faculty member Paul McNellis, S.J., and Jesuit Community member John Monahan, S.J.—all veterans—will concelebrate the Mass.

Did you know that a new Netflix series about profiling serial killers has a BC connection? Psychologist Dr. Wendy Carr, one of the main characters in the series "Mindhunter" is based on Boston College Connell School of Nursing Prof. Ann Burgess, a pioneer in the study of victims of trauma. Burgess' collaboration with two FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation agents beginning in the 1970s led to the agency's behavioral science method of profiling violent criminals.
