New license requirements start in October 2020

Massachusetts residents will need to change their identification cards by Oct. 2020 in order to travel in the U.S. by airplane or enter certain U.S. government buildings as part of the Massachusetts REAL ID program, according to a press release. Residents will be able to use their driver’s license for these situations if it is REAL ID compliant, and those licenses will begin to be implemented in March 2018.

SLOW STREETS COME TO JP

Mayor Martin Walsh, local elected officials, and residents gathered in Stonybrook on Nov. 1 to celebrate the implementation of the Neighborhood Slow Streets program. The Slow Streets program is part of the City’s Vision Zero project, which is a commitment of resources to eliminating fatal and serious traffic crashes by 2030. The effort is being led by BTD in collaboration with other City departments, including Public Works, the Boston Police Department, and Emergency Medical Services. The Slow Streets program includes speed humps and “Welcome mats,” which will state the speed limit on the street, among other changes. For more information, visit visionzeroboston.org.

Hazelburn Distillery was a distillery in Camp...

Hazelburn Distillery was a distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland, which was in operation between approximately 1825 and 1925. In 1886, it had 22 employees and produced 192,000 gallons of whisky per year, making it the largest distillery in the town. Nowadays Springbank produces the Hazelburn bottling.
