If you missed young Dylan, or just miss him, catch Ike Reilly’s rollicking stand at Atwood’s

Ike Reilly plays at 10 p.m. tonight and Thursday and Atwood’s Tavern, 877 Cambridge St., East Cambridge. Tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the door. Christian McNeill opens.

If you missed young Dylan, or just miss him, catch Ike Reilly's rollicking stand at Atwood's
People who missed the arrival of little Bob Dylan in 1960 should make it a point to catch Ike Reilly during his two-night stand at Atwood's Tavern, tonight and Thursday. The singer-songwriter out of Libertyville, Illinois, has the same sharp, rollicking sensibility and, if anything, even more of a knack for tuneful, crowd-pleasing consistency (heresy!)

In 2011 Anthony Bourdain paid a visit to East Cambridge during the "Boston" episode of his show "No Reservations." He came to East Cambridge in pursuit of his constant goal to experience the people, traditions and flavors of different cultures. In this particular case, he was drawn to the Azorean Portuguese culture that reminded him of his earliest years learning to cook in Provincetown. He didn't come to the East Cambridge / Inman Square area because it was a "dining destination," he came because the neighborhood's heart and soul embraced diversity of culture, and food was just one of the ways it did that. He wanted everyone to open their eyes and see our differences and celebrate them, even if it got messy. During his visit to Boston, while visiting the radio show of Howie Carr, Bourdain is quoted saying, "Hanging out only with people who agree with me is about as boring a prospect as I can imagine." So, maybe today you'll stop into that market you've been curious about or you'll try that new restaurant you've been meaning to try. Or maybe you'll even buy that plane ticket for that trip you've been dreaming about. And, maybe during dinner tonight you'll raise a glass of Vinho Verde and say "saúde!" No matter what we drink and no matter how we say "cheers!" -- we all appreciate being fed good food and being surrounded by good company. RIP Mr. Anthony Bourdain. You have a place saved at so many tables.

"Highland Fried plays to Inman’s “funky” side, especially with the tiki bar, Romano says. “That’s where the kind of funky Inman Square thing comes into play, where it’s like, ‘What does that really have to do with fried chicken or barbecue? A tiki place?’ But that’s why I like it, because it’s different. Why not?” says Romano."

After Detour, Highland Kitchen Owners Welcome Highland Fried to...
The story of the new Inman Square restaurant Highland Fried starts and ends with a local chef's exalted fried chicken, but a detour where the owners veered from their gut instincts nearly derailed the now-flourishing restaurant. Husband-and-wife restaurateurs Mark Romano and Marci Joy-owners of...

Here’s What $550,000 Buys in Cambridge and Somerville Right Now

31 Fulkerson Street #2, Cambridge

Here's What $550,000 Buys in Cambridge and Somerville Right Now
Hint: It's not very much. If you lived somewhere else-somewhere far, far away-$550,000 might buy you a generously sized house with a yard and maybe a garage. But in Cambridge and Somerville, that price tag won't get you a house at all. Rather, $550,000 is the price of an awfully small condo.
