“I want to thank Bianca and Megan. After I started coming here to the All Bright Community Center for Coffee Hour and then taking Financial Coaching, everything in my life started falling into place.” - Shirley A. Shirley A. has been a part of the Allston Brighton community for over 17 years. In her young 30 years of life she has had her fair share of challenges. Her 9 year old son Evan was born with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. and when he was just 3 years old, his dad died in a tragic car crash, leaving Shirley as the sole caretaker for their son. In early 2018, after a few one-on-one sessions through the Resident Services Goal Getters financial coaching program, Shirley maximized her income by landing a pre-school teacher position! Now she’s even more motivated and on to fulfilling her next goals, building her credit and getting a bigger apartment!!! Economic mobility, education and wealth building are essential in breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty. - PEOPLE OF ABCDC #pplofabcdc #allston #brightonma
