Public Meeting for the Mount Auburn Street Corridor Study, Wednesday, 12/13, 6:30–8:30 PM, Russell Youth Center, 680 Huron Avenue The Department of Conservation and Recreation will present for comment a preliminary design for a short-term alternative (primarily focused at the intersection of Mount Auburn Street and Fresh Pond Parkway), as well as on the final draft Mount Auburn Street Corridor Study.     Pilots to take bus riders out of traffic, improve commutes of 30,000+ Boston, MA (December 5, 2017) -Communities around Greater Boston, in partnership with the MBTA, will seek to create faster and more reliable commutes for more than 30,000 bus riders through a sequence of three pilot projects testing bus rapid transit (BRT) features over the course of 2018.

Thanksgiving affects municipal services: offices, trash pickup, cemetery and more

The Cambridge Cemetery at 76 Coolidge Ave. will have the gates open from 7 a.m. until dusk on Thanksgiving and Friday, Nov. 24, but the Cemetery Administrative Office will be closed both days.

The Recycling Drop Off Center at 147 Hampshire St. will be closed on Thanksgiving, but be open with regular hours on Saturday, Nov. 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    From the City of Cambridge, Nov. 16, 2017: Municipal offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23, and Friday, Nov. 24, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. On that Thursday, there will be no trash or recycling pickup or street cleaning in Cambridge. Service will resume Friday, with pickup routes for Thursday and Friday one day behind schedule.

    Cambridge will hold its first Servicemembers and Veterans Appreciation Week from Nov. 6-11. Activities on select days of the week will include acupuncture, guided meditation, fitness and nutrition tips, health checkups, restorative therapy, social gatherings, food and refreshments. A Veterans Day Observance will be held the final day at Cambridge Cemetery, followed by a luncheon and town hall.
