    The Council voted on the Volpe Project last Monday and I was happy to vote in support. I believe that this site will beneficial to our community. I have been a long time advocate of the Grand Junction Path which MIT has committed to helping come to fruition.

The Cambridge Police Department and Cambridge Public Health Department are hosting a medication take-back day tomorrow on Saturday, October 28, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Cambridge Police Department, 125 Sixth Street in Cambridge. Personnel will be available to accept unwanted prescriptions, vitamins, and over-the-counter medications. For residents who cannot attend the event, unused medications may be deposited anonymously at any time (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) in the drop box located in the first floor lobby of the police station’s Records Unit.     On Monday night, the Cambridge City Council voted to approve MIT's petition to rezone the site where the John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center currently operates. In an agreement with the federal government, MIT will build a new headquarters for the Volpe Center on approximately four acres of the parcel, and now with the city's zoning approval, the Institute will advance a detailed plan to redevelop the remaining 10 acres.
