Your favorite #farmersmarket is back next Friday, June 29! Would you help us get the word out by hanging a few of our fancy poster up in the places you work, shop, and play? Posters available for pick up at the Greater Ashmont Main Street office!
We want YOU to volunteer for the Ashmont Farmers Market! Volunteering is fun and a great way to give back to the community. Our market couldn't happen without the dedicated volunteers who help us set up, tear down, process transactions, and distribute meals week-in and out. Add your name to the list below!
Did you know that local Farmer's Markets are culturally significant institution beloved by generations of Americans before us? Dating back to 1730's in Lancaster, PA, locals would meet together at a designated lot in the center of town. Farmer's Markets have always played an important social role of sharing culturally shaped food practices and traditions, from Resident to Resident, Farmer to Resident, and vice versa. Come Meet us at the Market! Shop for fresh fruits and veggies, support local full-time farmers, and get an opportunity to hang-out with neighbors, enjoying music, playing games, and learning more about events happening in the community, all conveniently located on the Ashmont MBTA Plaza!
Why Shop at the Farmers Market? Being Fresh Is a Good Thing! – While store bought fruits and veggies are usually seven to fourteen days old by the time they hit grocery store shelves, at the farmers market you’re buying fruits and veggies picked just hours earlier. This means you can expect produce that stays fresher, longer. Selling at the farmers market, farmers can choose flavor over shelf-life.
We're one month away from Opening Day! Mark your 📆 for Fridays at the Ashmont Farmers Market in Peabody Square, returning with fresh 🍅🥕 live 🎶 and so much more June 29th, 3-7pm!

⁉️ Did you know? 1 in 10 Massachusetts residents can't reliably predict where their next meal is coming from. That's why we're supporting the Project Bread's Walk for Hunger & 5K Run – 50th Celebration this Sunday. It is the oldest pledge walk in the country (that's right, Boston did it first!), and Project Bread is celebrating 50 years of action against hunger. Consider joining the walk or making a donation to Project Bread to help support programs across the state (including support of the Ashmont Farmers Market) that ensure everyone, regardless of income, can access nutritious food all year long!
