As community agency connected to a public school bearing the name of an African-American educator and civic leader, we were interested to discover this article, shared with us by a friend: https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2018/06/13/names-whose-time-has-come/gXMw3EbiEOAef9Are3HClI/story.html

Not enough Boston schools are named for women. Here are some naming suggestions - The Boston Globe
How is this possible? Of 125 Boston public schools, only 10 are named for women. You read that right. Ten. And guess how many are named after men. Oh, how about 75. Pathetic! It's 2018, in one of the most progressive cities in the country. Can't Boston do better than this?

"Culture is not a mere afterthought or an add-on, but a key contributor to urban economic growth. But in fueling neighborhood growth and development, it has also played a role in rising housing prices, contributing to gentrification." - http://bit.ly/2JQfCVF

Does Culture Follow Economic Development in Cities, or Cause It?
A new study, drawing on 1.5 million images of cultural spaces in London and New York, finds that cultural capital is a key contributor to urban economic growth. One of the big questions in urbanism is the degree to which culture shapes economic development.
