Across the square, Chicago-based chain Potbelly Sandwich Shop (1 Porter Rd.) also shuttered, with a sign in the window directing customers to its remaining locations in...

"Culture is not a mere afterthought or an add-on, but a key contributor to urban economic growth. But in fueling neighborhood growth and development, it has also played a role in rising housing prices, contributing to gentrification." - http://bit.ly/2JQfCVF

Did you know that local Farmer's Markets are culturally significant institution beloved by generations of Americans before us? Dating back to 1730's in Lancaster, PA, locals would meet together at a designated lot in the center of town. Farmer's Markets have always played an important social role of sharing culturally shaped food practices and traditions, from Resident to Resident, Farmer to Resident, and vice versa. Come Meet us at the Market! Shop for fresh fruits and veggies, support local full-time farmers, and get an opportunity to hang-out with neighbors, enjoying music, playing games, and learning more about events happening in the community, all conveniently located on the Ashmont MBTA Plaza!
"On Sunday, I like to relax. Spend time with family, maybe take in some art or gentle exercise. Y'know. Move slow." We've got you covered. Backyard Block Party 2018, June 3, 12 Noon-4 PM (p.s. we've got fast-movers covered, too) http://agassiz.org/community/backyard_block_party/
Why Shop at the Farmers Market? Being Fresh Is a Good Thing! – While store bought fruits and veggies are usually seven to fourteen days old by the time they hit grocery store shelves, at the farmers market you’re buying fruits and veggies picked just hours earlier. This means you can expect produce that stays fresher, longer. Selling at the farmers market, farmers can choose flavor over shelf-life.
