I'm assuming it's 7am (not 9am) bc that's when National Grid needs the spaces/starts their work. This is temporary. It's one week of inconveniencing. And it's National Grid, so probably smtg that's important & necessary & cause enough for inconveniencing the residents in the area for 1 week's worth of time. I myself, also have no idea what 100ft looks like, but that's a pretty standard perameter to have. Kind of like your supposed to stay 100ft away from a school bus. Yeah, it'll suck having to deal with parking for that week, and you might have to move your car before 7am a few times, but by 7am, plenty of ppl have already left for work & there'll be spots for sure. Just have to make sure you snag one quick enough. Plus, this is Southie! I didn't even realize that till now. You can't live in Southie without fully expecting parking problems to occur at any point in time. It's a give-in. Now I'm starting to wonder if your new to the Boston area...? In which case, I can understand why/how now this might all appear as insanity. And also, (again if you're new to living in Boston areas), heads up on street cleaning that begins a week from this Saturday, (April 1). Definitely going to need to read the signs on your street for the week/day/time so you won't get towed!👍🏼

Chinatown is a neighborhood of contradictions. It has more than 3,000 units of affordable housing, often jammed next to luxury condominiums. Historic buildings, such as the original Quincy School opened in 1847, are blocks from modern skyscrapers. Once a Syrian neighborhood, a sustained wave of Chinese immigrants make Chinatown their home.
